Go Dog Go

My Coworker planned for the theme of Go Dog Go. Since it wasn't my planning week, I took the time to decorate our large bulletin board in the theme of the Book. I figured it would enchance and encourage a colour discussion during lunch or snack. Our snack/lunch tables are in front of this board.

Golden Egg Book

The children painted the egg shaped with water colours one day. Another day they had to draw what animal they thought could be inside the egg.. I fastened the two together with a brass fastener.

My computer has been acting up.. and has been in for repairs. Program Planning continues though if you don't have time to post. So here is some of the things I did for The Golden Egg Book.

Bunny and Egg Book

This is the cover I designed. I stapled 4 sheets of blank paper undeneath and than cut down the middle line. It made 2 books quickly.

for the older children they wrote the positional word.

We are focusing on the book The Golden Egg Book. One goal I have is for the children to increase their knowledge about positional words. The children will glue an egg and bunny on each page. We will talk about the bunny being, on, behind, beside, under or in front of the egg.

I was getting craft ready for Monday. The kids wanted to try it out. Our book for this week is Green Eggs and Ham. One of my goals is for the children to recognize, label and identify the colour green. For those that have met that goal I have incooperated a few activities for them to acquire the knowledge that blue and yellow make green. This craft activity is one of those projects.

For my next planning week, I have chosen the book Green Eggs and Ham by Dr. Seuss. I found an idea at http://www.brighthub.com/. The children will be able to identify the matching rhymes from the book. I have made up a set of 20 pictures each depicting a rhyming world from the story Green Eggs and Ham. I have made them available to anyone by uploading them to flickr.
